On April 14, the San Francisco Yiddish Combo will be hosting the North Bay Jewish Music Festival at the Polly Klaas Theater. This event will run from 2 - 4 pm and feature two exciting musical acts performing Jewish music and beyond, plus a guest speaker. Tickets are $25 The San Francisco Yiddish Combo will be headlining the second year of this festival, and will be joined by internationally-traveling cantorial soloist and Acapella music performer Stephen Saxon, and guest speaker Dr. Elaine Leeder, professor emerita of Sociology from Sonoma State University will be giving a humorous talk Held at the Polly Klaas Theater, the afternoon will begin with a performance by Stephen Saxon, who has created a unique cycle of songs that reference traditional Jewish music in an exciting new way built around his well-known powerful bass vocal skills. Proceeds from the concert directly benefit the training of local Honduran healthcare providers in collaboration with U.S. clinical professionals,and will also provide critical medical supplies and medications. When your name is pulled you get 5 minutes to tell your personal true story. At the end of the evening everyone votes by text for their favorite story of the night.
