TEACHER BIOS

Katie Foster

Katie grew up in a very musical family; both parents were music teachers and performers, and she spent many evenings putting on silly musicals with her 2 sisters in their living room. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Sonoma State University, focusing on vocal performance while also studying early childhood education and German language. During college, she performed in musicals and operettas, sang with local community choirs, and spent a year abroad in Germany studying music and voice. She taught first grade both locally and at an international school in Poland before pivoting to directing youth theatre. She directs musicals at local elementary schools and has been on the directing team for youth theatre at Spreckels, Music to My Ears, and 6th Street Playhouse. She is excited to help bring drama and music to the community through the Polly Klaas Theatre.
