A Benefit Concert with Oscar Rossignoli
“I have learned not to say so-and-so is “the best”, but I will surely say Oscar, is my FAVORITE, Nola pianist. Am I’m hardly alone.”
– Tom McDermott New Orleans Ragtime, Piano Master
Honduran born, pianist and composer OSCAR ROSSIGNOLI, settled in
New Orleans LA in 2014, and has taken his place as first-call pianist
in the city. With a strong foundation in classical piano, Oscar was
drawn as well, to the fearless improvisation of the Latin Jazz masters
like Chucho Valdez and Michel Camilo, and to the tremendously
impactful playing of icons of American jazz, like Oscar Peterson.
And once in New Orleans, he couldn’t help but be affected by the
sounds of Professor Longhair and James Booker that flow through the
Crescent City, at all hours of the day and night.
Oscar’s extraordinary contribution to whatever musical setting he
finds himself in, has resulted in his status as first-call pianist, in the
city. Artists he performs with include, John Boutte, Jason Marsalis,
Herlin Riley, Nicholas Payton, Victor Goines, Dee Dee Bridewater,
and Amina Scott, to name a few.
With the Oscar Rossignoli Trio, Oscar presents his own deeply
moving, original repertoire, reflecting each of these threads in his
own, unique and personal way.
Look for a new album release by the Oscar Rossignoli Trio early fall.
