SUMMARY:An Evening with Paul Thorn Benefiting Global Healing and Polly Klaas
DESCRIPTION:Turn your Sunday into a night to remember! Join us on October 25th at 7:30 PM for an unforgettable evening of music with Paul Thorn\, bringing his bluesy\, rocking\, thoroughly Southern brand of roots music straight from Tupelo\, Mississippi. Proceeds from this concert will directly help Global Healing‘s ongoing efforts in Roatán\, Honduras\, continuing to support fire recovery and providing the assistance needed to facilitate the hospital’s pediatric and maternal services—helping to collaboratively care for expectant mothers and children. \nIn 2024\, a shocking fire ravaged the sole public hospital on Roatán. Home to Global Healing’s pediatric clinic and hospital services for over the past two decades\, the hospital was vital for emergency care for both children and adults\, performing urgent surgeries\, and providing maternity services—like life-saving C-sections. Reduced to ashes\, the hospital and clinic left Honduras with even fewer means to deliver essential medical care. All medical equipment was lost\, and recovery is still ongoing. \nEric Scher and Barbara Stowe continue to travel to Roatán often\, having helped set up a transitional hospital in a former Adventist church\, teaching interns and fellows\, and delivering our donated and purchased medical equipment/supplies—made possible by generous supporters and benefit concert attendees like you. So come for the music (plus Barb’s famous homemade whoopie pies) and stay for the impact! Your ticket not only supports an intimate night of fantastic live music but also contributes directly to saving lives and helping the community of Roatán heal. \nAs always\, a special silent auction will be presented during the benefit—supporting Global Healing and celebrating the community members and organizations who generously donate items. If you or loved ones are interested in supporting our benefit concerts through volunteering or donating auction items for fundraising\, please contact Dr. Eric Scher at eric@globalhealing.org or (415)846-9160. \nSee you when the doors open at 6:30 PM! Get your Tickets HERE

SUMMARY:An Evening with Oscar Rossignoli Benefiting Global Healing and Polly Klaas
DESCRIPTION:“I have learned not to say so-and-so is “the best”\, but I will surely say Oscar\, is my FAVORITE\, Nola pianist. Am I’m hardly alone.”\n– Tom McDermott New Orleans Ragtime\, Piano Master \nHonduran born\, pianist and composer OSCAR ROSSIGNOLI\, settled in\nNew Orleans LA in 2014\, and has taken his place as first-call pianist\nin the city. With a strong foundation in classical piano\, Oscar was\ndrawn as well\, to the fearless improvisation of the Latin Jazz masters\nlike Chucho Valdez and Michel Camilo\, and to the tremendously\nimpactful playing of icons of American jazz\, like Oscar Peterson. \nAnd once in New Orleans\, he couldn’t help but be affected by the\nsounds of Professor Longhair and James Booker that flow through the\nCrescent City\, at all hours of the day and night. \nOscar’s extraordinary contribution to whatever musical setting he\nfinds himself in\, has resulted in his status as first-call pianist\, in the\ncity. Artists he performs with include\, John Boutte\, Jason Marsalis\,\nHerlin Riley\, Nicholas Payton\, Victor Goines\, Dee Dee Bridewater\,\nand Amina Scott\, to name a few. \nWith the Oscar Rossignoli Trio\, Oscar presents his own deeply\nmoving\, original repertoire\, reflecting each of these threads in his\nown\, unique and personal way. \nLook for a new album release by the Oscar Rossignoli Trio early fall. \nStay updated with Oscar Rossignoli on Facebook! \n— \nPETER VARNADO is an experienced musician and educator based in New Orleans. Born and raised in the city\, he has a deep understanding and appreciation for the diverse musical styles that have emerged from the region. Peter attended NOCCA and The University of New Orleans\, graduating with a Masters degree. While pursing an education\, Peter honed his skills across various genres\, including jazz\, blues\, r&b\, gospel\, and funk. He is a sought-after drummer in the New Orleans music scene; performing regularly at local\nvenues and festivals with some of the biggest names in the industry\, such as Ellis Marsalis\, Nicholas Payton\, Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah\, and The Jordan Family among others. As a musician and educator\, Peter has traveled across the United States\, Europe\, and South Africa performing\, giving lessons\, and master classes. He is currently the BAM Director of Applied Music at Tulane University with teaching experience for over 10 years. Peter is also the drummer for Preservation Hall\, The Oscar Rossignoli Trio\, The Matt Booth Quintet\, The Ryan Hanseler Trio\, and The Nayo Jones Experience. \n— \nLEX WARSHAWSKY was born in New York City and grew up in the uniquely rich musical town of Montclair NJ. Studying with many legends including Christian McBride and Billy Hart\, at the esteemed organization Jazz House Kids\, he was around high level peers from an early age. He received a soloist award at the Essentially Ellington competition and top honors at the Charles Mingus Competition. At age 17\, he was given a touring spot in the\nThelonious Monk Institute All Stars. After high school\, he attended Northwestern University where he studied with Carlos Henríquez and Victor Goines\, with whom he played at New Orleans Jazz Festival in 2014. He fell in love with New Orleans\, and moved there shortly after graduating\, where he has played and recorded with many of the city’s top musicians. He has toured internationally with Cyrille Aimée\, Judith Owen\, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra\, Gabrielle Cavassa and others. SUMMARY:AARON FOSTER “MOSTLY JOKES” STAND UP COMEDY

A comedy! \nFoster is the former host of HGTV’s FreeStyle and has been touring “Mostly Jokes” around the US and Canada for nearly two years and over 70 cities. A few of his main influences include Maria Bamford\, Mike Birbiglia\, Neal Brennan\, Gary Gulman\, Marc Maron and Taylor Tomlinson. Do with that information what you will. \nDoors open at 7 PM. SUMMARY:West Side Stories Petaluma: Too Many Irons In The Fire
DESCRIPTION:West Side Stories at PKCT! \nEveryone has a story and now it’s your chance to tell it. Every month there is a theme\, hopefully that sparks a memory for you. You put your name in a hat (an actual hat!) and 10 people’s names are drawn at random. When your name is pulled you get 5 minutes to tell your personal true story. At the end of the evening everyone votes by text for their favorite story of the night. If that’s you\, you get $50 and will join the other monthly winners in December for our GrandSlam at the Historic Mystic Theater. Sounds like fun\, right? \nTICKETS HERE >>
