With a strong foundation in classical piano\, Oscar was\ndrawn as well\, to the fearless improvisation of the Latin Jazz masters\nlike Chucho Valdez and Michel Camilo\, and to the tremendously\nimpactful playing of icons of American jazz\, like Oscar Peterson. \nAnd once in New Orleans\, he couldn’t help but be affected by the\nsounds of Professor Longhair and James Booker that flow through the\nCrescent City\, at all hours of the day and night. \nOscar’s extraordinary contribution to whatever musical setting he\nfinds himself in\, has resulted in his status as first-call pianist\, in the\ncity. Artists he performs with include\, John Boutte\, Jason Marsalis\,\nHerlin Riley\, Nicholas Payton\, Victor Goines\, Dee Dee Bridewater\,\nand Amina Scott\, to name a few. \nWith the Oscar Rossignoli Trio\, Oscar presents his own deeply\nmoving\, original repertoire\, reflecting each of these threads in his\nown\, unique and personal way. \nLook for a new album release by the Oscar Rossignoli Trio early fall. \nStay updated with Oscar Rossignoli on Facebook! \n— \nPETER VARNADO is an experienced musician and educator based in New Orleans.
